What we do

Is It Down Right Now? is a free tool that monitors the status of websites and tells you, in real time, whether a site is up or down. When a website will not load, our checker contacts the server directly and reports whether the problem is on the website's side or on yours.

How it works

When you enter a domain, our server sends a live request to that website and measures the response. We then show you the current status (UP or DOWN), the response time in milliseconds, a history of recent checks, and status from multiple global server locations. No data about you is required — just type a domain and check.

Down for everyone or just you?

If we report a site as UP but you still cannot reach it, the issue is almost always local — DNS, browser cache, a VPN, or your ISP. If we report it as DOWN, the site is unreachable for everyone. Our troubleshooting guide on each result page walks you through the most common fixes.

There is no sign-up, no download, and no cost. The tool runs entirely in your browser and on our server, and works on desktop and mobile alike.
