When a website fails to load, the root cause could range from an upstream datacenter outage to a corrupted local DNS cache. Browse our step-by-step technical guides below to diagnose and resolve internet connection problems on your device.

Quick Troubleshooting Checklist

If our status checker reports that a site is UP, but you cannot open it, follow these quick steps in order:

  1. Perform a Hard Refresh: Press Ctrl + F5 (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to bypass local cached assets.
  2. Try Incognito / Private Window: Open the URL in an Incognito window to check if a browser extension or cookie conflict is blocking the connection.
  3. Toggle VPN / Proxy: If you are using a VPN or corporate proxy, disconnect temporarily as certain websites block specific IP ranges.
  4. Flush Your DNS Cache: Run ipconfig /flushdns in Command Prompt (Windows) or sudo dscacheutil -flushcache (Mac).
  5. Restart Your Router & Modem: Power-cycling your network hardware clears stale DNS tables and re-negotiates your public IP lease.
