Reddit is UP
Reddit is a network of communities, called subreddits, where people post links, questions and discussions and vote on them. Heavy traffic or backend failures show up as error pages or comment threads that refuse to load.
Average response time 231 ms across 16 checks. Red bars mark failed checks.
Tell others what’s not working. Reports are anonymous.
No outages detected by our checks in the last 30 days.
Reload the page with Ctrl + F5 (Cmd + Shift + R on Mac). On a phone, close Reddit completely and open it again.
Open another website or app. If nothing loads, restart your router or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
An outdated Reddit app or browser can stop working after changes on Reddit’s side. Install any pending updates.
Old saved data can keep showing an error after Reddit is fixed. Clear them for this site, or try a private window.
Switch your DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 and disable any VPN, proxy or ad blocker, then try Reddit again.
Can’t access Reddit but it’s up for everyone else? Your network or ISP may be blocking it. More help in our troubleshooting guides.
The status box at the top of this page shows our latest automatic check of reddit.com, which runs every 10 minutes, plus how many people reported Reddit problems in the last hour. If our check is green but you still can’t use Reddit, the problem is most likely on your side.
When Reddit is up for everyone else, the usual causes are a weak or blocked connection, an outdated app, cached data in your browser, a VPN or ad blocker, or a DNS problem with your internet provider. Work through the troubleshooting steps on this page in order.
Compare two things on this page: our server check and the number of user reports. If our check fails or many people report problems at the same time, Reddit is probably having a wider outage. If both look normal, it is likely just you.
Wait and try again later rather than reinstalling the app or resetting your password, which won’t fix a server-side problem. Avoid repeating payments or orders until Reddit is working again, and check this page for updates.
Our server checks reddit.com every 10 minutes and keeps the results for 90 days. User reports from this page are counted live, so a sudden spike shows up within minutes.
